About Me
My name is Patricia Onwuma. I am a Registered Nurse, a mother of two amazing boys, and a widow.
Life has been heavy and stressful for me. My life hasn’t gone the way I hoped, and the family burdens have rested on me, raising my two children alone, even when it feels overwhelming.
Before nursing school, life felt like torture. I often wondered when things would get easier. I struggled with the question of which career to pursue. Eventually, I chose nursing, even though my children were still young. I had to figure out how to combine motherhood as a single parent with pursuing a nursing degree. It wasn’t easy, I had nightmares and constant worry about how I would manage everything.
Eventually, I made a difficult decision: I sent my children to my sister while I attended nursing school. It was painful being away from them, and it ate at me. After I became a nurse, I worked for some months, traveled, and then brought my children back.
When my kids returned, I faced another challenging phase. They were in elementary school, and I had to juggle everything: getting them ready, taking them to school, working, picking them up, helping with homework, and making sure they had what they needed. Life was demanding, running around, constantly sacrificing family time for work just to pay the bills. I worked so hard that I often felt torn physically and emotionally. I worried constantly about missing my children’s needs, and about not being the mother they truly deserved.
That’s when I began looking for something different, something more valuable than just earning money.
TIME TO BE PRESENT.
TIME TO BUILD MEMORIES.
TIME TO RAISE MY CHILDREN WITHOUT CONSTANTLY SACRIFICING FAMILY FOR WORK.
So I started searching for an online business that would give me the flexibility to earn income while still being there for my children.
On this faithful day, I was still searching for answers to the many questions I kept asking myself. While doing so, I came across a video by Dr. Sandra Emeodi. I listened halfway at first, because I didn’t trust most online opportunities.
The next day, I was browsing on my phone when I saw Dr. Emeodi’s message again. I told myself, let me listen she’s speaking my language. As I paid attention, her message made sense to me. I felt hope, and I believed there really could be another way.
I decided to call her. After our conversation, I knew a new chapter in my life was beginning. I wasn’t relieved because someone promised me an easy road, rather, I felt relieved because I found a way to learn, grow, and work toward what I had been searching for. Now, I have answers to some of the questions I’ve always carried.
I do this for my children, and I refuse to let my past situations define our future. I do this because, even with losses and challenges, it’s still possible to rebuild and fulfill your dreams.
Brethren, I encourage anyone whose life my story has touched in any way to persevere, redirect yourself, and move forward.
